CHANDIGARH: Two immigration consultants have been booked for cheating. The police said Rajinder Singh,a resident of Nayagoan,had reported that he was duped of Rs 8 lakh by the immigration consultancy firm,Settlement Visa House, Sector 17,on the pretext of providing visa and work permit of the UK to his nephew. In another case,Quick Visa immigration, Sector 22,was booked on a complaint filed by Mohit Kumar of Ambala,who alleged that he was cheated of Rs 4.90 lakh on the pretext of providing visa of Singapore.

MOHALI: The suspended Vigilance Bureau Assistant Inspector General {AIG} Ashish Kapoor was sent to three day police remand by a Dera Bassi court in connection with the thrashing of a women accused in police custody in 2018.

CHANDIGARH: The parents of a 26-year-old women has accused her in-laws of murdering her for more dowry. The mother of a two-year-old- daughter was found dead in the house of her in-laws at Dhanas two days ago. The in-laws had claimed she had committed suicide by hanging herself.
